Our extra qualification in online training

Choose one or more of our e-training modules as an extra qualification so that your trainers learn how to engage participants online. The e-training module can be booked in combination with our trainer qualification. Trainers will have to have completed a train the trainer course before they start any of the e-training modules. All three modules assume that the trainers already have the skills to design and deliver training courses.

The e-training modules provide your trainers with the skills to deliver creative online courses and bring their individual trainer personality to the online training situation. They also learn how to design and deliver comprehensive blended learning programs.

What is blended learning?

Blended learning combines face-to-face with online training and synchronous with asynchronous learning sessions. Trainers choose the best delivery formats to maximize the transfer of trained knowledge back on the job and incorporate these formats into their overall training concept.

Extra qualification – “e-trainer”

Qualified e-trainers create high quality and engaging online and blended learning concepts specifically designed for the target group. Delivery is interactive, taking into consideration both the personality of the trainer and the group dynamics that develop in the virtual environment. This ensures that participants remain focused and engaged. The e-trainer qualification complements our trainer qualification, making it an optimal extra for your trainers.

These 4 to 6 modules are completed over a period of 8 to 12 weeks and can easily be tailored to suit your individual needs. Each module includes a live webinar, a self-study element and learner-organized group work. The trainers also prepare their own training units – using training sessions from an existing concept. Trainers will need about 72 hours to complete all modules.

Module 1

Introduction

Your trainers familiarize themselves with Carsten Deters & Partners’ Virtual Academy and get to know the other participants. Each trainer brings their own training project to the program and will work on this throughout.

Module  2

Design & teaching methods

The trainers learn about the advantages and disadvantages of synchronous, asynchronous, hybrid and blended learning formats and prepare their own online training sessions. They can draw inspiration from a pool of creative online teaching methods.

Module  3

Interacting with the group

Your trainers can bring their individual trainer personalities just as well to the online as to the conventional classroom setting. Although they are not in the same room, they build relationships with their participants and create an interactive and engaging environment. They can make use of and influence group dynamics and also provide individual support.

Module  4

Video training (optional)

An expert gives your trainers media training and useful tips to help them feel comfortable in front of a camera – whether they’re giving live online trainings or creating video content for self study.

Module  5

Digital technologies (optional)

The focus here is on the technologies that your trainers need to navigate their way through the world of online training. They learn how to adapt teaching content for online delivery and produce videos and podcasts for their project. We work with the software that is used in your organization.

Module  6

Final module

The e-trainer qualification ends with your trainers presenting their concept to the other participants and delivering one of the live training sessions included in their concept.

Online training course “How to do a webinar”

In this two-day online course your trainers learn how to adapt part of an existing classroom training concept for online delivery while building their confidence in the virtual environment. They expand their knowledge of the available training techniques and know which of these techniques achieve the best results for each phase of an online training session.

The online training focuses on 5 topics:

  1. The principles and success factors for professional online training
  2. The essentials of how to structure an online training program
  3. The virtual training environment – webcam, seating arrangements, learning environment
  4. Interacting with the participants throughout the different phases of the session – methods, visualization, group activities
  5. Online presentation – interactive tools, surveys, breakout rooms, chat functions

Workshop “From classroom training to blended learning”

Online, classroom or self study? In this 2-day classroom workshop your trainers adapt an in-classroom training to suit the requirements of a blended learning concept.

They learn about the advantages and disadvantages of synchronous, asynchronous, hybrid and blended learning formats and develop the ability to choose the best format for each part of their training session.

One of the reasons that this workshop takes place in person is that we ask your trainers to prepare physical classroom materials so that tangible results are produced for the different delivery formats.

Booked in combination with our “How to do a webinar” online training, this workshop is a good alternative to the more comprehensive e-trainer qualification.
